1842 – Elizabeth Bacon Custer, a significant chronicler of the West, and the wife of Gen. George Armstrong Custer, is born in Michigan. She’s best known today

for her decades long effort to celebrate her husbands life and exonerate him from the massacre of the Seventh Cavalry at Little Bighorn.

Rotary Last Week

Col. Rob Gordon discussed his trip to Baghdad University in Iraq  re; “Director of American Politics”. The crux of his mission: “Bring back Baghdad to the World Body

of Academic Institutions”, with senior West Point leadership. Cultural gaffes he noted were: Showing underside of shoes, raising eyebrows, exchanging business cards, and attire.
