Rotary Last Week

President Cathy Kelly announced that this coming Sunday, April 25, is the Top Hat award at the Eagle’s Nest in New Windsor. She plans to attend. She also asked all to consider

contributing to the Rotary Foundation. Dist. Gov. Knut is working for prevention of blindness in India. Pres. Cathy also informed members that a home was located for another exchange student.

McDonalds Restaurant Park project – A motion was made by the President and seconded by Curt Brewer, to spend $5000.00 for an engineering study of ceding land to the Village

of Highland Falls.

District Assembly meeting is scheduled for May 8th, 8 – 2 p.m. at the Best Western Motel in Poughkeepsie. Roy Spells & incoming officers will attend.

Farrell Patrick announced that there would be an “Ethics” conference tomorrow, April 23 at Eisenhower Hall.

Fred Lewis was indoctrinated as a new member of the club. He gave an interesting presentation on his reason for becoming a member. He was “Pinned” by Bill Stone.

Saturday, May 16, 2-5 p.m. $300 Club.- Final drawing March 24 at Vassar, wine/cheese reception.

May 15th – Rotary Cleanup Day – The annual cleanup will kick off at the Town Of Highlands Ambulance Corps building at 9 a.m.

May 8th. Special Olympics – Volunteers gladly accepted.

Youth Exchange Letter – Either send someone to other country or post someone. $500.00 for outbound and $1500.00 for inbound students.

Poughkeepsie Club – A group study going to Brazil in May for 3 weeks. If you’re between 25-40 years of age and interested, shout!
