Lee Shorr, N.Y. State Employer Grants.  Looking for a few good employees? List your positions directly with Orange Works: www.orangeworks.biz. Follow directions and the job will appear shortly. Click “Enroll with DOL” and automatically be placed on the Dep’t of Labor’s NY Job Bank Data Base. Lee Shore gave an excellent presentation of the services available through Orange Works. “What employers are looking for today is a well-trained work force.” (Dr. John A. D’Ambrosio, Orange County Chamber of Commerce.

 

Phil Brillante’s weekly safety tip concerned evacuations in the event of a hurricane, etc. Phil’s tip concerned being ‘prepared’. Don’t wait until the last minute! Keep emergency supplies on hand, items such as portable radios, flashlights, (extra batteries) food, and a planned evacuation to higher ground.

 

Phil also said he will update interact next week.

 

Walk of Fame – This project headed by Don Sagaria is moving along nicely. We are collectively working on the design & wording for the sign. It is to be dedicated to founding Pres. Dave Heister.

 

The Holy Innocents Church thrift shop will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm.

The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4th Wednesday of month.

Sacred Heart Thrift Shop open 10am – 2pm; (4:30 Thursdays.)

 

Rev. Judy Ferguson also announced an upcoming concert series; plays, Musicals, etc.

 

Other Clubs’ Activities

Blooming Grove-Washingtonville Rotary Club will hold their 5th annual golf outing on June 5th 2006 at the Stony Ford Golf Course in Montgomery, NY. See flyer!
