Rotary Last Week, Sept. 9th

Brian Riley, head coach of the Army Hockey team gave a very interesting talk, which revealed that he is a local denizen of the Town Of Highlands. He said that his brother Rob was also

head coach. His dad is one of the “immortals” in the West Point Hall Of Fame. (Brian also revealed that he’s a Red Sox fan!)

Some other happenings at the meeting were:

Pres. Roy Spells again announced that October 9th will be the Exchange Students’ Football game.  Anyone interested in hosting a student let Roy know. He also mentioned the PolioPlus

effort by Rotary Int’l.

Ren Wallen – Gave a head up on the holiday gathering at Morgan Farm in Highland Falls following the Army/Navy football game.

October 9 – Student exchange - Josh Brewer.

Fruit SalePhil Brillante gave a “heads up”.

U.N. Day Tour – Young Rotarians – 12/6. 

Phil Brillante will speak on interact.

Dinner Theater – More on this later.

Anne Lennox – discussed the “Walk to Iraq

endeavor.

Fishing trip Att ‘n. Anglers: Phil Brillante’s fishing trip set for September 15th. Plenty of seats left. Bring a guest.

Jerry Sheehan says: – “Get ‘em while they’re hot! Ben Birillo’s Patriotic “Statue Of Liberty” scarf, which Ben donated to the club.  (Proceeds to the club.)

Jerry also has both gray and white male and female shirts with Rotary Logo. (Looks sharp!) (Nice gifts?)

Think Christmas! -Mike Moss again gave a reminder that the Christmas luncheon will be upon us before we know it. Get in the spirit early! December 16th is the target date. Help needed: Committee positions, entertainment & raffle.
