Rotary Last Week – January 20, 2005.

Business Meeting: Pres. Roy Spells  again addressed the tsunami situations in the Indian Ocean. Kate Squicciarini from the Thayer is coordinating this effort. (Rotary is contributing #500.00)

Kate said she has $700.00. Funds go directly to Rotary in Sri Lanka.                                          

100th Anniversary – Wed. Feb. 23 is the 100th anniversary of Rotary.

Fruit Sale – Bill Stone reports that some money has been returned, some members said “keep the check”. (Scholarship fund.)

Food Pantry – Holy Innocents sends its thanks!

Fund Raising Committee - Alan Hirsch was appointed chairman of this new committee.

Shirley Bonsell – Put together a booklet on the club since its inception. GREAT JOB!

District 7210 Rotary Foundation Luncheon –Sunday Feb. 6 at 3 pm - at “Torches On The Hudson, 120 Front Street, Newburgh. $40.00.

Phil Brillante distributed a flyer from the Union Rotary Club, “Buy a Brick”. Good fund raiser.  (Idea for new park?)

Don Sagaria spoke of community minded organizations meeting at Battle Monument.

Rev. Judy Ferguson – Said that for the food pantry, money is better than food.

Winter’s Here! – Both the Episcopal & Catholic Church thrift shops will be operating 2nd & 4th Wed. of month. Have any worm clothing for them?

 Daffodils? – Farrell Patrick said Shirley has $200.00 worth of daffodils for spring planting! (Get ready for the spring cleanup!)

Jerry Sheehan’s Pushcart: – Jerry’s pushcart slogs along in deep snow! (Whew!) He still has Ben’s Statue of Liberty Scarves as well as shirts, jackets etc.  (All proceeds to the club.)

Dinner Theater. – Harold Spaeth gave a proposal for “Crazy for You” on April 17th. Lunch? Dinner? – (More to follow on this.)
