Rotary Last Week, October 20th

This was a business meeting which included items such as “Hurricane Katrina” relief, The Town of Highlands’ Garden club  Veterans Memorial, which the club made a $200.00 donation, and the Orange County Safe Homes’ Santa Project, in which The club will adopt a family between Thanksgiving & Christmas & supply them with needed items. (Club members will donate these.) Also, high on the agenda was our Dinner Theatre fundraiser! Please talk this up and sell tickets; we need a good turnout! Harold Spaeth is doing a heck of a good job!

Phil Brillante’s Safety News: – Phil is still in New Orleans, but by the power of mental telepathy, the writer was able to ascertain that he was urging us to use caution while driving on the slippery, wet roads with the leave falling on them. (Thanks Phil!)

Reminder:  We’ll host the Exchange Students from England at the AAA Lot on Saturday, Nov, 12th.

Diana Cole: Once again, Diana is doing a great job coordinating the District Katrina fund.

One more time! Let’s have three cheers for Jerry Sheehan and his fund-raiser for families of GI’s who were killed in Iraq.

Theatre Party Note: Harold Spaeth says: Don’t forget: Start making plans for the Theatre party on January 8, 2006. (The cost is still to be determined but we’ll know soon.)

The Holy Innocents Church thrift shop will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm.

The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4th Wednesday of month.

Sacred Heart Thrift Shop open 10am – 2pm; (4:30 Thursdays.)

   So buy a jacket – don’t make a fuss!”
